Disclosure Diaries Update #112, Oct 26 – Nov 1, 2026

This past week in Disclosure:

Oct 26 – Burlison: "If we lose the midterms, this effort will come to a complete halt"

Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO), a member of the Oversight Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, told the Rebelliously Curious podcast that the congressional push on UAP depends on the Nov 3 result. Coverage.

"If we lose the midterms, this effort will come to a complete halt." … "Unfortunately, and I'm not saying this for political reasons, I truly think that this is true." – Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO)

His two reasons: Democrats have said their oversight would focus on the administration, and the administration, which he says has been "very generous with their resources on this topic", would pull back. In the same episode he said he is still pursuing the footage David Grusch has described, showing bodies he called "Nordic", and footage of UAP activity at White Sands, that Grusch has left his office, and that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has declined to speak to Congress about UAP: "The only way that we would be able to get him in is a subpoena."

Oct 27 – Gallaudet: the ocean is "the most unexplored area of the world", and there is a second USS Omaha-type video

Rear Adm. Tim Gallaudet (ret.), former acting NOAA administrator and a member of the UAP Science Advisory Council, told Sean Hannity's podcast that "We've only explored with either drones, buoys, floats, about 10% of ocean volume", and of the 2019 USS Omaha transmedium video: "It goes into the ocean, no disturbance" … "I'm aware of another video that shows something similar, but from overhead." Coverage. He didn't say who holds it.

Oct 29 – Vance: "we've started to put some resources behind trying to understand" the UFO programme

At a Fox News town hall in Fort Worth with Jesse Watters, an audience member asked Vice President JD Vance what he meant by telling Joe Rogan there are "supernatural things" happening, and, given two years of a top secret clearance, "Are we going to see real, actual aliens?" (5:31). After a joke that an extraterrestrial had landed 50 years ago and was running for the Senate as James Talarico:

"What I have said about the UFO program is I just don't know, and I have started to look in it, we've started to put some resources behind trying to understand it. And, I tell you, when I have the answer I'll certainly tell you" – Vice President JD Vance (6:46)

"Now that I do have a top secret security clearance that's changed. I'm actually reading a book right now by a guy, I think his name is Jay Patterson [sic]" … "I'm going to use my top secret security clearance to get to the bottom and I may have a good answer or I may have a terrible answer"

He also said, as a "devout Christian", that he believes some things "can't [be explained] purely with the laws of physics". What "resources" means isn't said. Two weeks earlier the President's answer to the same question was "I'm looking."

Oct 30 – Rounds answers "NO" to the gatekeeper-assassin theory

Douglas Dean Johnson, who tracks UAP legislation, published Sen. Mike Rounds' written answers of June 17, 2026 to four questions: whether he has heard credible reports of murders to silence UAP disclosures, whether he has suggested would-be informants face physical danger, whether other senators have suggested it to him, and whether he has reason to believe informants risk violence. To each: "NO." – Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD), co-sponsor of the UAP Disclosure Act. Asked by Ross Coulthart in June 2025 whether he'd support language requiring the FBI to investigate such allegations: "I have not pursued that. This is honestly– I've never had that question be asked." The theory appears in Jay Stratton's book and has been advanced by Grusch, Elizondo, Barber and others. Johnson's own conclusion is that he has seen no substantial evidence anyone has been killed or credibly threatened over UAP.

Oct 31 – The FBI has "nothing additional to add" on the triangle report, the images are illustrations, and Kirkpatrick alleges AARO was told to strip its resolutions from released cases

Two developments on last week's lead. Liberation Times asked the FBI why agents with thermal equipment were deployed, whether the object was identified and whether imagery exists. The Bureau's reply, in full:

"We have nothing additional to add to the documents." – FBI statement to Liberation Times

The Department of War told Fox News the images in the FBI file are illustrations, not photographs of the object, and "We are not providing any comment or assessment on the files overall or on any specific file".

Sean Kirkpatrick, AARO's founding director (2022–23), told Fox the report lacks the evidence needed to say what the agents saw:

"There's a lot of people that like to point to folks as being credible witnesses" … "And that is a classic case of authority bias." – Sean Kirkpatrick, former director, AARO

"When we say a case is unresolved, it generally means there is no data" … "Many of these cases, we did resolve, and I even briefed several of them to Congress" … "Pentagon leadership had told AARO to remove all of the resolution language and put these cases out as unresolved," … "Letting, and I quote, 'the people make up their own mind,'"

That last claim, that resolutions AARO had reached were removed before files went into PURSUE, is new and specific. Kirkpatrick left AARO in December 2023, so his knowledge of how the 2026 tranches were prepared is second-hand unless he says otherwise, and Fox doesn't say. The department's only comment is the non-comment above. On the week's files generally: "I mean, there's nothing new."

Oct 31 – Democrats reported to be weighing a UAP caucus and select committee if they take the House

The New York Post reported that House Democrats are weighing a UAP caucus and a select committee should they win on Nov 3, with unnamed Republicans worried a Democratic committee would claim the findings of AARO's overdue second historical report. Rep. André Carson (D-IN), who chaired the 2022 hearing, told the Post "the current administration has not been fully transparent on UAP", and described the scope as "how incidents were investigated, the role of classified programs" and whether activities were disclosed to Congress. It's a conditional plan, anonymously sourced beyond Carson, and the opposite reading of the election to Burlison's. For scale: Douglas Dean Johnson finds no race in which UAP features, Rounds' campaign site doesn't mention it, and he expects the Disclosure Act's review board to be dropped in the lame-duck conference.
