Disclosure Diaries Update #28

This past week in Disclosure:

Feb 19 – UAP-related records are now available for viewing at the National Archives

As required by the UAP-related legislation included in the 2024 NDAA (handy overview of the relevant sections here), the Archivist of the United States is required to start collecting and publishing records that "pertain to unidentified anomalous phenomena, technologies of unknown origin, and non-human intelligence."

Unfortunately, none of these terms have been concretely defined by law, nor does the Archivist have the power to compel agencies to provide every relevant record. In any case, it's a start...

Feb 21st – Rep. Moskowitz on UAP field hearing: "We did get some locations in the classified briefing that are fascinating"

In an exclusive with AskaPol, Rep. Jared Moskowitz had the following exchange regarding upcoming UAP field hearings:

Rep. Moskowitz: “Well, we did get some locations in the classified briefing that are fascinating, so there’s talk about maybe going to some of those places, but, you know, very unknown at the moment.”

Askapol: “It’s early?”

Rep. Moskowitz: “Early.”

Askapol: “What are the big questions you have lingering? Do you think we’ll be able to find answers to those in the next public hearing or no?”

Rep. Moskowitz: “Well, I think the claims that, perhaps, the IG found some validity in Grusch’s claims. Those are the ones I want to follow up with."

Feb 21st – Under Secretary of Defense, Ronald Moultrie, is announced to be stepping down at the end of February

In an official statement published on Feb 21, it was confirmed that Under Secretary of Defense, Ronald Moultrie – who has been a significant obstacle to UAP disclosure transparency – will step down at the end of February.

Feb 21st – Rep. Burchett on establishing a Select UAP Committee: "I don’t know if that’s even a possibility"

Speaking with Askapol, Rep. Tim Burchett weighed in on the possibilities of another UAP hearing, the (un)likelihood of a UAP Select Committee, as well as his thoughts on Dr. Kirkpatrick.

Q: Has a Select UAP Committee been shelved?

Rep. Burchett: I don’t know. Everybody pushed towards that. I don’t know if that’s even a possibility. Really. I can’t see — I don’t know. And they’d have to devote resources to it, and it’s just gonna be a — that’s just all new details, and I don’t know if they’d wanna do it or not. I’ll push for it, but I’m not — it’s not a beach I’m going to die on.”

On Kirkpatrick:

Rep. Burchett: “To himself, anyway, [Dr. Kirkpatrick's] being dishonest. I think these guys are so compartmentalized. I don’t like him degrading others that have obviously been involved in the thing.”

Feb 23rd – UAP tracked over Western U.S. has left American airspace, officials say, as it eventually turns out to be a 'hobbyist balloon'

CBS News first reported that: "the military was tracking the balloon as it traversed the Western U.S. on Friday February 23rd. NORAD, the military command responsible for air defense over the U.S. and Canada, later confirmed it had detected the object and said it was floating between 43,000 and 45,000 feet. Its presence prompted enough concern that the command sent aircraft to investigate."

"The balloon was intercepted by NORAD fighters over Utah, who determined it was not maneuverable and did not present a threat to national security. NORAD will continue to track and monitor the balloon," NORAD said in a statement. "The FAA also determined the balloon posed no hazard to flight safety."

This event reiterates the fact that US airspace seems to be rife with foreign objects (some of which remain unidentified) that may pose potential intelligence/safety threats. As some may remember, there were a series of UAP sightings and shoot-downs in February of 2023...which still remain to be officially explained and/or resolved.

Things to look out for in the near future:

February

  • According to Senator Gillibrand – a public hearing in line with AARO's latest report can be expected soon, saying –"I'll probably have another hearing aligned with that public report.”
  • Dr. Kirkpatrick had claimed Volume One of AARO's historical review would be published by the end of the year...so keep your eyes peeled for that. There has been no update on why it has been delayed, or when specifically we can expect to see it published.

Beyond / unknown

  • Following the UAP hearing on the 26th of July, Members of Congress have called for a select committee with subpoena authority, to “go about the task of collecting information from the Pentagon and elsewhere” on unidentified flying objects. There have been conflicting messages from various Members of Congress on whether this is likely to happen anytime soon.
  • Reps. Moskowitz, Luna, and Burchett have repeatedly stated their intent to hold field hearings to overcome stonewalling from the Pentagon and military establishment

"I think we [Congress] should try to get into one of these places [housing UAP evidence]...and if they won't let us in I think we should have a field hearing right outside the building...and the military will have to explain why that is." – Rep. Moskowitz (D)

It is currently unknown when exactly we might expect that to occur, however as of Jan 12 – Rep. Luna confirmed: "I feel confident that we have enough evidence to move forward with our first field hearing. @mattgaetz @JaredEMoskowitz @timburchett . We will be announcing details soon."
  • Several journalists have indicated that first-hand witnesses of the alleged UAP legacy programs are in the process of providing testimony/evidence to the relevant authorities (e.g. the IC IG) and/or are on the verge of making public statements in the near future (Example 1, example 2, example 3, example 4)
  • David Grusch has received additional clearances through DOPSR to discuss some of his (alleged) first-hand knowledge of Legacy programs. He has mentioned he may be covering more of this information in an upcoming Op-Ed
  • Some commentators have speculated that the architects of the UAPDA (e.g. Sens. Schumer/Rounds et al) are working diligently behind the scenes to continue furthering serious legislative UAP transparency efforts
